About the Portfolio Report Card™
The free Portfolio Report Card™ is a snapshot of the financial condition of your investment portfolio. It is only available to U.S. based investors that meet our strict internal requirements. We reserve the right to abstain from grading certain portfolios that don’t match our criteria and we reserve the right to deny or ignore requests for a Portfolio Report Card™ to anyone for any reason(s).
There are three basic categories of information we collect:
- Information you choose to give us.
- Information we get when you use our services.
- Information we get from third parties.
Information We Collect and You Choose to Give Us
When you use the Portfolio Report Card™ we collect the information that you choose to share with us. This includes basic data like your name and email address. It also includes your financial data, which is used to analyze and grade your investments. We use this data to determine the financial condition of your investments and to assign you a final grade of A, B, C, D, or F. If you object to sharing your financial data or having it analyzed, do not submit your data to us. Refraining from data sharing with us automatically disqualifies you from receiving a Portfolio Report Card™.
Analytics and Advertising Services Provided by Others
We may obtain from other companies cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies on our services. These companies may collect information about how you use our services over time and combine it with similar information from other services and companies. This information may be used to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain features, and better understand your online activity.
Additionally, we may use information collected on our services to measure the performance of ads, Webpages, and deliver more relevant content on behalf of us or other companies, including on third-party websites and apps.
Information We Share
After you submit your Portfolio Report Card™ request, your contact information and financial data is provided to an authorized portfolio grader. The role of your portfolio grader is to analyze the investment data you’ve provided, professionally assess the financial condition of your investments, and to personally deliver and explain your final Portfolio Report Card™ results. If you fail to share requested data, respond to further inquiries, or to book a final exam appointment with your grader, you will not receive a Portfolio Report Card™. We reserve the full right to control how, when, and by whom your Portfolio Report Card™ is delivered to you. Finally, your portfolio grader is a licensed financial professional who operates as independent contractor.
We also reserve the right to anonymously feature, as public content, any and all investment portfolios that are submitted to us at PortfolioReportCard.com including possibly yours. This helps us to spread the word about the benefits of the Portfolio Report Card™. It also helps others, besides yourself, to learn about and to understand the correct benchmark of a well-built investment portfolio.
How Your Information is Used
Your financial data is used for grading purposes. For example, sharing your IRA holdings and telling us your age and other key data along with your financial objectives/concerns helps us to accurately grade your investment results in key areas like cost, taxes, risk, and diversification. It’s impossible to receive a Portfolio Report Card™ without providing all the key data we ask you. It’s comparable to visiting a doctor for an annual health exam, looking for a professional opinion, without allowing the doctor to see you.
How Long We Keep Your Information
Your data is securely stored and kept for as long as we need it to complete your Portfolio Report Card™. Thereafter, we reserve the right to delete your data or keep it for a duration of time that we determine. The chief purpose of why we operate this way is to monitor grading trends and to examine our own internal processes with the goal of improving.
Security and Safety
We use a variety of proven protections to maintain the security of your online session. For example, we make use of firewall barriers, encryption techniques and authentication procedures. We may also place cookies, if you consent, and similar files on your hard drive for security purposes, to facilitate site navigation, and to personalize your experience on our site.
In the event of a data breach of personal information, our company will take any and all reasonable steps necessary, including technical measures to limit further breaches and to inform affected parties and authorities.
The Portfolio Report Card™ is exclusively offered and available to qualifying U.S.-based investors. All inquiries and requests from non-U.S.-based investors are automatically denied.
Our services are not intended for—and we don’t direct them to—anyone under age 18. And that’s why we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
